If they really got what it takes, it's going to take everything they got.

Seven classes a day and a hot lunch. That's what New York City High School for the Performing Arts guarantees. Stardom? That's something the school's teenage musicians, actors, dancers and dreamers strive for.

The first of the 80's classic musical films and still one of the best of the bunch.
Despite being 30 years old this film is still a must see classic it has a great script and some fantastic songs.
Much better than the terrible 2009 remake that pales next to the original.

Customer rating: 1 out of 5 stars Seriously don't bother...

Er 'superb plot'... I spent the most pointless two hours of my life looking for one. No good music other than the headline song which is played once somewhere in the middle. Many soul-destroying monologues. Nothing gets resolved. The worst musical I have ever seen.

Customer rating: 1 out of 5 stars Dissapointing after all the hype.

After hearing great things about this movie and loving musicals i gave it a watch. Possibly the most boring movie i've ever watched. The song "i'm gonna live forever" which i love was the only good part and only featured for about a minute. The characters and stories were good, but it was just so boring and i would not watch it again! In conclusion it was basically rubbish!!!
